OPPO continues to fuel the growth of the domestic industry through various strategic initiatives. One notable step is the establishment of a 10-hectare factory in Indonesia. This facility not only boosts the national industry but also significantly absorbs local labor. Commencing operations in August 2022, OPPO’s factory located in the Periuk area of Tangerang has already employed over 2,000 local workers.
The impact of OPPO extends beyond its employees; the local community around the factory is also feeling the benefits. By creating job opportunities, offering skill training, and engaging in community empowerment activities, OPPO is contributing to the upliftment of living standards and economic well-being.
As of now, OPPO has employed around 13,000 individuals across various business sectors and operates more than 150 OPPO Stores throughout the country. This initiative not only strengthens distribution and service networks but also contributes to the national economic growth and community empowerment, as highlighted by Patrick Owen, Chief Marketing Officer of OPPO Indonesia.
Support for the Sports Industry In addition to its industrial contributions, OPPO is making waves in the sports sector in Indonesia. In November 2024, OPPO Indonesia partnered with the Indonesian National Team as the Official Smartphone Partner at the Bali United Training Center. During the AFC Asian Cup 2024 qualification matches, OPPO generously distributed hundreds of free tickets to loyal fans and organized watch parties at OPPO Gallery.
“Our support for football goes beyond being just a sponsor; we aim to play a more active role in inspiring and supporting the journey of football, both globally and within Indonesia,” Patrick remarked.
Recently, OPPO Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesia Olympians Association (IOA), launched the event ‘Make Your Moment: From Badminton for Everyone.’ This occasion featured nine legendary Indonesian badminton players, who not only competed but also engaged in fundraising activities.
Through ticket sales and exclusive auctions for items such as the OPPO Find N5, rackets, and jerseys signed by the legends, OPPO and the IOA successfully raised a total of IDR 2.5 billion. All proceeds have been directed through the IOA Foundation to support athletes across various sports disciplines in Indonesia.
This showcases that OPPO’s presence is not solely about technology; it embodies a commitment to advancing Indonesia’s progress.
