The Cirebon Regency Government is actively working to boost tourist visits through various promotional strategies. One of their key initiatives is the recent Travel Mart and Table Top event, held over the past week. Cirebon’s Regent, Imron, highlighted that this event serves as a direct promotional opportunity for tourism industry players, particularly travel agents from across Indonesia. “Over this week, we organized the Travel Mart and Table Top. Through these activities, we aim to promote and inform all travel agents from outside Cirebon Regency about our many outstanding tourist attractions,” Imron stated on Friday (July 4, 2025).
Impressively, around 150 travel agents participated, hailing from regions such as Java, Bali, Lombok, NTT, NTB, as well as Jakarta, Bandung, and Banten. During the event, agents received valuable information including destination data, contact persons, and other essential details.
“The most significant turnout was from Jakarta. They typically visit on weekends for culinary adventures and to explore areas like Belawa. Meanwhile, visitors from Cirebon and Indramayu tend to favor swimming pools as their vacation destination,” he explained. One particularly popular swimming spot is located in the Ciledug District, attracting between 1,000 and 1,500 visitors daily during holiday seasons or weekends.
To enhance visitor comfort, the Cirebon Government is also developing a homestay program and curating a two-day, two-night travel package. An exciting highlight of this package includes an arts performance in Baraja, aimed at captivating weekend tourists.
“We’ve also been promoting off-road tourism in the Batu Lawang area, which has already commenced. This adds another thrilling dimension to Cirebon’s adventure tourism offerings,” Imron added.
Furthermore, the Cirebon Regency Government is pushing forward the development of the Tourism Master Plan (Ripparkab), currently under discussion and communicated with the local DPRD. Through these varied strategies, the Cirebon Regency Government aspires for the local tourism industry to flourish, positioning it as a vital driver of the regional economy.
