Dutch Striker Alex Schal Linked to a Move to Bali United

Bali United has attracted several foreign players, primarily from Europe, including Joao Ferrari, Mike Hauptmeijer, Thijmen Goppel, Tim Receveur, and the latest addition, Mirza Mustafic. Rumor has it that the club is set to sign another foreign striker, which, if confirmed, would bring their total to eight foreign players.

According to Transfermarkt, one name linked to a potential move to Bali United is Alex Schalk, with a reported likelihood of 80%. Interestingly, rumors surrounding Schalk surfaced before those regarding Mustafic, yet it was Mirza who joined the team first.

The management has remained tight-lipped about Schalk’s situation. “There hasn’t been any update from the management regarding Alex Schalk. We’ll have to wait and see,” said Bali United’s Media Officer Alexander Mahaputra when asked about the speculation on July 16, 2025.

Schalk, a 32-year-old striker of Dutch descent, is currently a free agent, with his last club being ADO Den Haag. His career has taken him across multiple leagues, having played for clubs like Ross County in Scotland, Servette FC in Switzerland, and Urawa Reds in Japan. In his earlier years, Schalk primarily played in the Netherlands, representing teams such as NAC Breda, PSV Eindhoven U-21, and Go Ahead Eagles.
