Injourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has embarked on a series of upgrades to the facilities and infrastructure at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok Tengah, West Nusa Tenggara. These improvements encompass supportive infrastructure and other key amenities, all aimed at ensuring a seamless experience ahead of the highly anticipated MotoGP event scheduled for October 3-5, 2025.
Troy Reza Warokka, Director of Operations at PT ITDC, shared insights from Mataram on August 6, 2025, explaining that ongoing efforts focus on finalizing infrastructure and system enhancements outside the circuit’s boundaries. “Some installations are already in place; for those that aren’t fitting perfectly or are damaged, we’re replacing them,” he said.
The improvements extend beyond the circuit itself, including renovations to premium seating sections such as the Royal Box tribune, which are expected to be completed well before the race. Troy hinted at exciting developments, revealing, “We might just give a sneak peek — premium tickets are completely sold out today, and sales for other seating categories are still ongoing.”
He also highlighted strong support from government officials and stakeholders. “Last week, Menpora Dito visited Mandalika and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to MotoGP. The provincial government is fully backing this event,” Troy added.
Unlike previous years, the 2025 MotoGP at Mandalika promises an even more thrilling competition, with some surprises in store. “There’s a different vibe this time. Everyone’s watching to see if Marc Marquez can secure a podium — he’s missed out in three straight races at Mandalika,” Troy noted.
Furthermore, the duration of side events surrounding MotoGP 2025 has been extended to six days, a decision communicated and coordinated with West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal. The provincial government proposed this extension to better integrate ancillary activities with the main race, creating a series of events that complement the circuit’s schedule.
Discussions are ongoing regarding the precise timing and venues for these side events, which aim to be synchronized with provincial initiatives. “We’re still working out the details, but the goal is to seamlessly connect the side events with the regional agenda,” Troy explained.
In addition to the racing itself, activities such as Rider Parade will continue from last year, including visits by MotoGP riders to local schools, fostering community engagement. “These are initiatives led by the governor to showcase Lombok on the global stage — MotoGP serves as an ideal platform to highlight NTB’s beauty,” Troy concluded.
