MotoGP Indonesia will take place at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit from October 3 to 5, 2025. Coincidentally, the same weekend also features a Formula 1 race in neighboring Singapore. This MotoGP event, known as the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, marks the 18th round of the MotoGP season.
While the overlap of these two high-profile races raises concerns that spectators may choose the F1 event in Singapore over the MotoGP, Troy Reza Warokka, the Operations Director of InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), remains optimistic. He believes that the two events cater to distinct audiences. “Every event has its challenges, and the proximity of the F1 race is definitely a factor. However, I think the markets are different enough that it shouldn’t be a major issue. The experience offerings are simply not the same, which attracts different crowds. With a hopeful outlook, we believe we’ll still draw our audience,” Troy expressed during a recent visit to detikcom.
Echoing his sentiments, others are confident that the Formula 1 race will not significantly impact attendance at MotoGP Mandalika. Each race has its own dedicated fanbase. “The ticket prices for F1 are considerably higher, and the packages often include hotel stays alongside the race. This indicates that our audience remains distinct. The MotoGP and F1 markets are quite niche, and we’re excited that MotoGP will continue to thrive independently, irrespective of F1’s influence,” he added.
