NTB Provincial Official Responds to Juliana Marins’ Body Reautopsied

The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has addressed the planned re-autopsy of Juliana Marins, a Brazilian national who tragically fell on Mount Rinjani. They emphasized that the decision lies solely with the victim’s family. According to reports from Bali, Juliana’s body will undergo a second autopsy at the Medical Legal Institute in Rio de Janeiro. Previously, a forensic team at Bali Mandara Hospital in Denpasar had conducted the initial autopsy.

“It is Juliana’s family’s right to request whatever they feel is necessary, and we cannot forbid them from doing so,” stated Faozal, a representative of the NTB government.

Earlier findings revealed that Juliana survived approximately 20 minutes after the fall. Her death was attributed to severe impact injuries causing internal bleeding and organ damage.

Faozal assured that the evacuation was carried out with the utmost effort, fully adhering to Indonesia’s evacuation protocols and standards. The initial autopsy was also performed with professional rigor by qualified medical professionals and supervised by the National Police.
