The PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) consolidation event at Bali’s Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) kicked off on Friday, August 1, 2025, amidst tight security. Pecalang (traditional Balinese security personnel) and PDIP task force members in black uniforms with red berets stood guard at every entry point, ensuring only authorized individuals gained access. Pecalang from Desa Bualu, dressed in matching red attire, positioned themselves alertly at various strategic spots around the venue.
Entry was strictly controlled — only those with official identification badges were permitted inside. Several party members waited patiently outside, unable to enter without proper credentials. Around the premises, a steady flow of vehicles included PDIP ambulances and convoys of party officials, all carefully escorted by security personnel. Despite the ongoing movement, those without credentials remained barred from entering the event area.
I Nyoman Wirana, leader of the Pecalang of Desa Adat Bualu, reported mobilizing 32 pecalang to secure the site over the three-day event at the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) in Nusa Dua. “We divided into two shifts — 16 in the morning and 16 in the evening,” he explained.
Wayan Koster, PDIP Bali regional chairman, highlighted that the consolidation would last two days and remain a private affair. “The party consolidation will continue until August 2,” Koster confirmed during a visit to the PDIP Bali office in Denpasar on July 31, 2025.
