BMKG forecasts that several regions in North Sumatra are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall today, starting from the afternoon and continuing into the night. According to data from BMKG Region I Medan, on Sunday (July 13, 2025), significant rain is anticipated in the cities of Sibolga, Dairi, Humbang Hasundutan, Tapanuli Tengah, and Tapanuli Utara, with the chance of precipitation extending into the evening.

Additionally, areas such as Padang Sidimpuan, Labuhanbatu, Labuhanbatu Selatan, Pakpak Bharat, Samosir, Tapanuli Selatan, and Mandailing Natal are also expected to see nighttime rain.

Today’s temperatures in North Sumatra will range from 15 to 35 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels between 72% and 100% and wind speeds of 3 to 11 km/h. Several popular tourist destinations may face rain both day and night. For instance, Berastagi is expected to see temperatures around 17-20 degrees Celsius, humidity levels of 84-99%, and wind speeds reaching 10-11 km/h.

BMKG also predicts rainfall during the day and night at Lake Toba and Samosir, where temperatures will hover between 17 and 22 degrees Celsius, with humidity of 82-95% and wind speeds of 9 to 10 km/h. Other tourist spots like Bukit Lawang, Namu Sira-sira, and Tangkahan are also forecasted to experience showers from afternoon into the evening. Visitors are advised to exercise caution if planning to visit these areas.
