Video of the damaged Singaraja-Amlapura road has gone viral on social media, causing concern among the residents of Bali. This renewed anxiety comes in light of another incident on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk route, near Bajera Market in the Bajera village of Selemadeg, Tabanan, where the road also experienced a collapse.
Ariadi Pribadi, Head of the Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), clarified that the footage from Singaraja-Amlapura is old. It resurfaced through a chain message on WhatsApp. “That incident is not recent,” Ariadi confirmed on the evening of July 9, 2025.
According to reports, the Singaraja-Amlapura road, specifically in the Pacung village area of Tejakula, Buleleng, suffered damage on January 6, 2025. The collapse was attributed to water seepage from an aging pipeline belonging to the local water supply company (PDAM) that had not been addressed for a long time.
Ariadi reassured the public that the road has been repaired for quite some time now. “It’s back to normal,” he emphasized, ensuring that the Singaraja-Amlapura road is safe for travel.
