Deputy Mayor Pilar Saga Ichsan Leads Crackdown on Illegal Activities in Roxy Ciputat
South Tangerang’s Deputy Mayor, Pilar Saga Ichsan, personally spearheaded a decisive operation to dismantle illegal structures in the Roxy Ciputat area. These buildings were reportedly hotspots for prostitution and illicit alcohol sales.
“The activities here can no longer be tolerated as they clearly violate legal regulations. Today marks the execution of enforcement,” Pilar stated emphatically on Monday, June 23, 2025.
According to Pilar, the crackdown was the result of a lengthy process involving three prior warnings since March 2025. These warnings were issued after gathering evidence that illegal activities were taking place on approximately 10,800 square meters of land owned by the South Tangerang City Government.
“We have given ample time for compliance, but instead, the land was misused for unlawful activities such as the sale of alcoholic beverages, karaoke businesses, and other unauthorized practices. Enforcement action had to be taken today,” she added firmly.
During the initial demolition phase, some residents who had been benefiting from the premises resisted efforts. However, the opposition quickly subsided under the vigilant oversight of public order officers, supported by the South Tangerang Police and Military Command 0506/Tangerang, allowing the operation to proceed smoothly.
“We appreciate everyone involved for ensuring the success of today’s operation. This action is an important step toward urban renewal and the strict enforcement of regulations,” Pilar remarked.
The site contained boarding houses, karaoke bars, night entertainment venues, and several small shops. Pilar personally inspected every corner of the property, engaging with locals and tenants while warning those exploiting the premises for illicit gain.
After discussions with community representatives and council members, it was agreed that tenants of the boarding houses and shop owners would be given a five-day grace period to vacate the buildings. Pilar assured that all illegal structures would be demolished.
“This land belongs to the South Tangerang Transportation Department, which plans to repurpose it into a parking area for cars and public transport vehicles that are no longer operational,” she concluded.
