Umi Tatu, also known as Tatu Mulyana and the mother of the late Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori, as well as the mother-in-law of Umi Pipik, visited Jakarta Selatan Police Station on Friday night, August 8, 2025.
Upon arrival, she chose not to comment and quickly entered the investigators’ room for questioning. The spokesperson for the Jakarta Selatan Police, Kompol Murodih, provided a brief explanation regarding the nature of her visit.
The investigation pertains to a report involving alleged fraud connected to a hajj and umrah travel agency believed to be under her ownership. “Dark dealings related to umrah,” explained Kompol Murodih when approached by detikcom on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
He further clarified that Umi Tatu’s role is still as a witness, emphasizing her current status as a witness in the case. The ongoing legal process aims to gather evidence and confirm the veracity of the allegations.
